Product care

I make my products to stand the test of time. These anklets are ready to be put to work. However, you can give your anklets some extra TLC by:

  • Wiping any dirt from the surface of the leather with a damp cloth.
  • Buffing out small scruffs or scratches from wear using a cotton cloth. This brings the natural oils to the surface of the leather.
  • Feeding the leather with Original Sedgwick Leathercare to protect and replenish the natural oils in the hide. Please note that this product will slightly darken the colour of the leather.

More information

A field-tested design, born from the need for a squirrel chap that protects the bird’s feet without hindering its footing.

Made from heavy-duty leather with solid brass studs, these chaps give the bird freedom to foot naturally while still providing protection.

The bird does not need to be cast to fit these anklets and you do not need a closing tool.

The free-moving skirting sits comfortably on or between the toes as the bird shifts its grip, while the brass studs act as a focal point for the squirrel when biting.

This version features an extra eyelet for adding bells or telemetry.

Each pair of chaps is proudly made right here in my Lincolnshire workshop.

Crafted from the finest materials

Falconry is a demanding sport, not only on the bird, but also on the equipment. That's why I use the best leathers I can find, from around the world.

I use high quality tough leathers that perform well in the demanding conditions that we all know as normal, in the falconry field.

Real World Use

These anklets have been proven in the field thousands of times over the years, and they’ve become some of the most widely used in the falconry world.

We’re proud of that - but don’t just take my word for it, take theirs. See the reviews.

Made in England

Proudly made in England - every item we sell is our own work, built in our own workshop with no shortcuts.

"Made in England" is not just a label here, it's a matter of pride.

If we don't make it, we don't sell it.
